Leadership
Henderson County was started during 1996 as a part of the
Governor’s Three Star Community Award Initiative. Today, this has
proven to be one of the best programs ever implemented by the Chamber
of Commerce. The participation from the community has been
overwhelming. The classes have made very effective changes in the
future of our county.
This
class is designed as a personal development program. The program
encourages, identifies, and develops community leaders. The class
meets in ten sessions during the year to provide these individuals
with a better understanding of major concerns and opportunities facing
Henderson County.
The efforts put forth by this group not only
will benefit generations to come, but will also spark a renewed spirit
of community involvement. The photo to the right shows some of the fun
our class enjoyed during the history presentation.

Lexington High School
Leadership Class
Mrs. Margaret Stowe, LHS Business Teacher, started the Leadership Class in 2002. The mission of our LHS Leadership Class is to strive for excellence by dedicating ourselves to developing strong, successful leadership skills and to help coordinate the implementation of renaissance for both the students at Lexington High and the members of our community. Our major mission is to create an empowering environment of success on the school's campus and make a difference at LHS so that the students of today will be leaders of tomorrow.
The Lexington Chamber of Commerce helped to get the class started with an agenda of community involvement. The Lexington Chamber of Commerce included the LHS Leadership MClass in the Governor’s Three Star Community Award Initiative.
